What is it? - It is a soft injectable gel made from Hyaluronic acid (HA) - It closely resembles the HA found in our bodies - HA binds water to improve hydration and add volume to the skin What is it used for? - Add fullness to areas of the face that have thinned out from aging - Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles - Smooth skin, youthful appearance Areas that can be treated? - Cheeks - Lips - Around the mouth - Around the eyes How is it done? - Skin is anaesthetized with a topical numbing cream. - Injections of filler are made directly into the area being treated. - Results can be seen immediately, although full effect can be seen after 2-4 weeks. - Lasts between 6-12 months (patient and area dependent), as the HA is slowly broken down by the body.
